Call for abstracts

The organizing committee of the 12th Hardwood Conference would be pleased to receive high quality abstracts on all subjects concerned with hardwoods. The conference will feature key-note speakers, technical and poster presentations on various topics with special emphasis on hardwoods, including:
    • Hardwood resources and assessment
    • Hardwood forest management: challenges and opportunities
    • Hardwood: stemwood characteristic, their manipulation and interrelation to wood properties
    • Hardwood structure and properties
    • Plantation wood
    • Regulation of Timber Trade
    • New aspects of the hardwood processing chain
    • Drying, modification & functionalization
    • Machining & Manufacturing
    • Durability, biodegradation and preservation
    • Hardwood in composites and engineered materials
    • New hardwood product approaches
    • Product design and marketing initiatives
    • Role and place of hardwoods in the circular economy

Submission of abstracts

Abstracts (1000 words max.) should be submitted during your registration (Registration link), or sent by email to the local organizers (hardwood-conference@uni-sopron.hu) until 13 March 2026. In case the abstract is selected for a poster or an oral presentation, a full paper will be requested (5 pages for poster and 10 pages for oral presentation). Abstracts and full papers must be in Microsoft Word format (.docx ONLY). Please use the templates below! Abstracts are only used for the pre-evaluation of submissions, NO “Book of abstracts” will be prepared.

Full-paper submission

Full-papers should be submitted during your registration (Registration link), or sent by email to the local organizers (hardwood-conference@uni-sopron.hu) until 30 April 2026.

In case the abstract is selected for a POSTER presentation, a full paper of maximum 5 pages long is requested.

In case the abstract is selected for an ORAL presentation, a full paper of maximum 10 pages long is requested.

Abstracts and full papers must be in Microsoft Word format (.docx ONLY). Please use the templates below!

Conference proceedings will be submitted for evaluation in Web of Science database. Proceedings of 8-9-10th Hardwood Conferences are already accepted by the database.

Conference fees

Full price: 500 € (2 conference days)
Early bird: 400 € (2 conference days) (registration through the online registration tool is mandatory, see below)
Students: 250 € (2 conference days)
Conference dinner for accompanying person: 50 € (Does not include conference attendance, lunches and coffee breaks)

Full, early bird and student registration includes: conference attendance, lunches, coffee breaks, dinner, conference proceedings.
